    Description

1970 Plymouth Barracuda 440-6 pack (BP23G0B186xxx) was a factory 318 Grand Coupe, automatic, factory carbs and factory 6-pack air cleaner, console, bucket seats, 440 side stripe, 8 3/4 rear-end w/3.55 Sure Grip, power steering, power front disc brakes, dual exhaust with correct Cuda chrome tips, Rallye wheels, AAR hood, 6-way factory driver seat, Go Wing and has it’s original Fender Tag!
The Barracuda just had several things done to it including restored Rallye wheels, new front disc brake rotors, calipers, brake pads, rubber flex lines, front brake line kit, master cylinder, rear brake drums, rear wheel cylinders, rear brake lines, flex lines and metal lines, aluminum water pump and pump housing, gaskets, thermostat and billet housing, accelerator pump, spark plugs, water pump and crank pulleys, belts, upper and lower radiator hoses, factory clamps, heater hoses and fittings, correct 1970 shifter, console brackets, all linkage, neutral safety switch, engine oil and filter, P/S box upper seal, wet sanded and buffed entire car, black carpet and sill plates.
Overall the Barracuda is a beautiful car that is ready to drive and enjoy but I would consider it to be more of a driver type car because of several flaws in the paint.
If you want a true show car I think you would want to have some paint work done and have the front fenders blended into the doors.
In the early 2000’s it use to have a two tone paint job and now you can see the faint line that use to separate the two colors on certain angles and in different lighting.
You could drive and enjoy it for awhile and later on have the paint work done to take it closer to a show car status vehicle.
I will have close up pictures of the flaws in the album listed below.
Please call me and I will be glad to do a complete walk around the car so you will know every detail of it.
I typically restore and finish around 8 or more Mopar's a year and have been working on them for more than 30 years.
I do every one as if it were my own to keep. I put a lot of time, effort, pride and money in the cars I offer for sale which is evident when viewing one of my cars compared to others for sale.

    PAINT, BODY AND FRAME
The body is very straight and clean, nice seams and in very nice shape. The trunk floor, trunk extensions, wheel well housings, doors, frame, floor boards, hood and fenders all in very nice condition. I believe the Barracuda was painted in the early 2000’s.
The quarters, trunk floor and trunk extensions have all been replaced.
There was also a small metal patch smaller than a piece of paper on both front floors at the foot area.
The undercarriage is very clean and neat with no apparent rust.
The super high-gloss deep clear coat shine was just professionally wet sanded with 1500,
    2000, 2500 and 3000
grit paper to achieve a high caliber ultra finish
. This long process alone took over 60 hours and the finish shows it!
The paint color is PPG Prowler Purple.
As mentioned above the paint is extremely nice overall but I am calling it a driver only because of the faint line where the two tone line use to be is now starting to bleed through. Some people maybe fine with it the way it is but I think I would paint the front fenders and blend it back into the doors to make the car more show worthy.
The door jams and engine bay are very nice.
The trunk is painted but it is not as nice as the exterior paint.
There is also a small ding and crack on the very top front edge of the passenger side fender.
I have photos of these in the extra photo link listed below.
I know how important paint is so please take the time to call me and I will gladly go over the exact details of the paint, although it is extremely nice, there are always some minor flaws.
    GLASS, CHROME AND TRIM
The Barracuda’s front and back glass is okay for a driver but I would change both to make it show condition.
The front windshield has several wiper marks and the rear glass has a lot of small scratches going across side to side.
The LH/RH side glass has a few scratches but overall all in good original condition!
The front and rear bumpers are newer and in excellent condition.
The trim pieces are in nice original condition and were polished for optimum shine.
The front grill appears to be a restored nice original piece and looks great!
    INTERIOR
The black interior has been mostly restored and looks very good!
The dash pad has a newer replacement dash cap on it and looks good.
The Legendary seat covers, carpet, headliner, speaker shelf, sill plates, door switches and trunk divider are all newer.
The gauge cluster appears to be in nice original condition and under the dash is very clean and neat.
All factory gauges work and operate correctly.
All lighting works as should including the high/low beams, dome light, reverse lights, tail lights, parking lights, turn signals, four-way flashers, and license plate light.
The fan motor, windshield wipers, heat/defrost, horn and E-brake all work as should.
    DRIVE TRAIN
The strong running 440-6 pack engine was rebuilt in the early 2000’s.
It is believed to have lower miles (1500 in the last 15 years) on it and still sounds awesome and has excellent power.
It has what I believe to be the Mopar .509 lift purple shaft cam and has an aluminum 6-pack intake #3412048 and is topped off with factory 1971 carbs.
The air cleaner is also a factory original and not a cheap reproduction.
It also has electronic distributor kit with Mopar ECU box, headers, aluminum water pump and housing and a big 26” radiator to help the cooling.
The casting date on the 1969 440 is
    11-16-68
    .
The engine casting number is 253643.
The flat ID surface is E440 (1969).
The Barracuda has an excellent sounding dual exhaust system with flow master mufflers and the correct factory chrome tips and added dual valance cutouts!!!
The 727 automatic is a newer TCI transmission with a deep pan and an 11” torque converter.
It shifts excellent through the gears and is an absolute blast to drive!
    The Barracuda has an 8 ¾ rear-end with a 489 case and a 3.55 Sure Grip differential.
This excellent drive train combo runs and drives awesome in all conditions whether highway or city driving.
    SUSPENSION
The front suspension has been checked over and is in good condition.
As mentioned above all the brakes, rotors, calipers, pads, drums, brake hardware, lines, hoses and wheel cylinders have all been just changed.
The Rallye wheels have been restored and have brand new chrome trim rings and lug nuts.
The tires are about 75% good and are 235-60-14 fronts and 275-60-15 rears.
Please note there is no spare tire or jack.
